Limpopo · UIF-funded · Six months

Get qualified.
Get paid.
Get to work.

Kaylord delivers fully-funded six-month skills programmes for previously-employed people in Limpopo who are ready to retrain and get back into work. Nine training streams. A SETA-recognised qualification. A monthly stipend the whole way through.

You may qualify if you:
  • Have previously been employed and contributed to UIF
  • Are currently unemployed and looking to retrain
  • Are a South African citizen with a valid ID
  • Live in any of the five districts of Limpopo

Selection for UIF-funded skills programmes is run by the Department of Employment and Labour — not by Kaylord. Your nearest Labour Centre is the first stop.

Kaylord never charges learners. Not now. Not ever.

If anyone asks you for money to get on the programme, they are lying. Report them to report@kaylord.org.

Six months. Two phases. One outcome.

The programme is delivered in two halves. You earn a monthly stipend across both. Attendance is tracked daily.

Months 1–3: Theoretical training

Classroom-based training delivered by SETA-accredited providers in your district. Daily attendance tracked. This is where the foundational knowledge for your chosen stream is built.

Months 4–6: Practical component

Workplace experience with a host employer in your district — or, where placement is not viable, simulation-based practice that mirrors real working conditions. This is where the certificate becomes a CV.

The monthly stipend is paid throughout both phases, every month, into your bank account — provided your attendance is on track.

Nine training streams. Real qualifications. Real demand.

Every Kaylord programme runs for six months, includes a monthly stipend, and ends with a SETA-recognised qualification. The Department of Employment and Labour allocates each selected learner to a stream based on their background and the cohorts open at the time.

Real questions. Honest answers.

Do I have to pay anything?

No. Never. The programme is free for you — funded by the Unemployment Insurance Fund. If anyone asks you for money to get a place, secure your stipend, or speed up your selection, they are not from Kaylord and you should report them to report@kaylord.org.

How does selection work? Do I apply to Kaylord?

You don't apply to Kaylord directly. The Department of Employment and Labour identifies eligible candidates from the UIF database — people who have been employed and contributed to UIF, and now need to retrain to get back into work. Once Labour selects you for a Kaylord-delivered cohort, your details come to us and we take it from there.

What does "previously employed and contributed to UIF" actually mean?

If you have ever been formally employed in South Africa and your employer deducted UIF from your salary, you have contributed to UIF. The Department of Employment and Labour can verify this from your ID number. Your nearest Labour Centre is the place to confirm whether you qualify.

Do I need a matric?

It depends on the specific programme stream. Some require Grade 12, some don't. The Department of Employment and Labour applies these criteria during selection. If you've been selected by Labour, you've already met the criteria for the stream you've been allocated to.

How much is the stipend, and how is it paid?

The monthly stipend is set by the programme funder and paid into your own bank account every month for the full six months of the programme. The amount is confirmed at induction. The stipend is tied to your attendance — days you don't attend are deducted on a pro-rata basis. The funder requires accurate attendance for every rand paid.

Where will I do my practical component?

With a host employer in your district during Months 4–6. We do not require learners to relocate. Where workplace placement is not viable, simulation-based practice is used instead.

Will I get a job at the end?

The programme is designed to take you forward — into employment, further study, or self-employment support. We work hard to make absorption happen. But anyone who guarantees you a job is lying. We don't promise what we can't control.

Is this a real government programme?

Yes. Funded by the Unemployment Insurance Fund. Delivered through SETA-accredited training providers. Kaylord (Pty) Ltd is registered with CIPC under registration number 2015/252946/07.

I haven't been contacted by Labour. What do I do?

Visit your nearest Department of Employment and Labour office with your ID. They confirm UIF eligibility and add eligible candidates to the recruitment list for upcoming programmes. Selection runs through Labour, not through Kaylord.
