A skills company built where the work is needed.
Kaylord was registered in 2015 to do one thing well: take adults in Limpopo who have been in the workforce, lost their footing, and are ready to retrain — and put them on a path to a real qualification, a real workplace, and a real next step. Nothing more, nothing less.
Why Kaylord exists
Limpopo has the highest rate of unemployed youth in South Africa relative to its population. The skills development funding to address this exists. The training providers exist. What is often missing is a delivery partner that is local, accountable, and willing to do the unglamorous work — registration, tracking, stipend administration, employer relationships — at scale.
Kaylord is that delivery partner. We do not pretend to be more than that.
How we operate
Local first
Our delivery teams are based in Limpopo. Recruitment, induction, training and placement happen in the districts where learners live. We do not require relocation.
Audited and accountable
Every stipend, attendance record, and assessment is logged and auditable. Funders can audit us. So can SARS, the UIF, and SETAs. We expect them to.
Honest about what we control
We can promise you a registered qualification, a stipend, and a workplace placement. We can't promise a permanent job — anyone who does is lying. We promise to work hard to make it happen, and to be honest when the answer is no.
Free for learners — always
If anyone asks a learner for money to access a Kaylord programme, they are not from Kaylord. Report them to report@kaylord.org.
